It's back-to-school time, and I'm ready to celebrate. Oh sure, we have early morning wake-ups ahead, and so. many. lunches. to pack, but I can already hear the sweet sound of silence. And, I look forward to their absence during the day making my heart grow fonder for them by 3PM.

Not to mention, this must mark the beginning of the end of the brutal heat of summer, right? I'm full of optimism right now.

There's still some time to get those last-minute back-to-school purchases made, thank goodness. I have a weekend full of shopping ahead of me at NorthPark Center! Here are some things I have my eye on for the kids, and, of course, for myself.

Under Armour UA Playoff golf shirt ($39.99)

My 8-year-old son lives in Under Armour, and I’m grateful that this “cool” brand is top-notch quality, too. It takes a lot to destroy these shirts. In fact, he never has, meaning we can keep them as hand-me-downs for little bro.

hanna Andersson Petal Poplin Tunic dress ($39)

hanna Andersson Ruffle It Up dress ($45)

When it comes to little girls, you really can't go wrong with hanna Andersson dresses. Again, I'm a sucker for good quality and a long life, and these stand the test of time and playgrounds. We'll start the year off with some short sleeve tunics because, let's be real, it's going to be hot for a while. But I can't wait to dress my 5-year-old daughter in these warmer long sleeve dresses over leggings after the temps drop. (Don't tell her I said I'm dressing her. I have to let her believe this is all her idea.)

crewcuts pull-on short in lightweight chino ($37.50)

H&M long-sleeved T-shirts ($4.99)

My favorite combo for little boys as we head into the fall is shorts with long sleeve shirts. These pull-on shorts by crewcuts are the perfect combo of function and style for my active 3-year-old. And you can't beat the price on these H&M long sleeve graphic tees, especially when I know 1/2 the lunch I pack him for Mother’s Day Out is going to wind up on it.

As for me? I could totally go for a makeup bag refresh, and this MAKE UP FOR EVER Back-to-School Kit for only $79 is singing my name.

My shopping spree will have to wait until right after I join Alexa Conomos of WFAA's Daybreak, Cynthia Smoot of Oh So Cynthia, and Amanda Hunter of Dallas Moms Blog to provide trend commentary for The ABC’s of Back-to-School Style presentation this Saturday at 11:30AM in NorthCourt of NorthPark Center.

After that? Get outta my way. Happy back-to-school!
