Baseball caps make a street smart fashion statement this season along with classic straw fedoras and Panama hats.
Leading design houses glamorized the baseball cap with logos, graphics and unusual materials such as leather and suede.
Gucci’s canvas caps sport its unmistakable double G logo with modern graphics printed front and center. Check out the red and black king snake, a pair of roaring tigers and the bee. The storied Italian brand also offers chic black leather caps embossed with the tiger and snake motifs.
Salvatore Ferragamo super-sized and doubled its iconic Gancini logo, printing it on a black vegan leather cap for a bold graphic look that’s sold at its store and at Neiman Marcus. Ferragamo legend has it that the horseshoe-like Gancini symbol, which first appeared in 1969, was inspired by the wrought-iron gate of the gothic Palazzo Spini Feroni, which now houses the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum.
If a $300-plus designer cap isn’t for you, H&M and ZARA have you covered with faux suede baseball caps in caramel and other hues. H&M’s also got straw Panama hats and trilbies, while ZARA stocks a feel-good navy cap embroidered “YEAH” in royal blue from brim to back.
The North Face has got racks of baseball caps with colorful graphics and tongue-in-cheek slogans, such as “Natural High.”
Always colorful, Robert Graham is ready for parties with checkerboard linen fedoras, straw fedoras with snappy hat bands and multicolor straw Panama hats. Its baseball caps sport distinctive prints.
