Fall officially started yesterday, and one of the major hallmarks of the season is the State Fair of Texas! The 24-day fair kicks off on Friday, September 25, and we are ready to indulge in Fletcher’s corny dogs, funnel cakes, and everything fried under the Texas sun.
Back in 1965, NorthPark Center decided to get involved in the fair festivities with Fun and Games, an interactive exhibition consisting of games made of wood, fabric and paper designed by artist Norman Laliberté. He is perhaps best known as the design consultant for the Vatican Pavilion at the New York World’s Fair of 1964.
Fun and Games was a part of a series of five installations Laliberté completed with his firm, Del Sol Productions, for the Pepsi-Cola headquarters in New York, which opened in 1960. The games made their way down to Dallas for all visitors to enjoy and revel at their intricate detail and artistry.
