NorthPark50: Fifty Years of Art and Culture

Leo Villareal Exhibition
Opened November 5, 2015

In celebration of the 50th anniversary, two major works by Leo Villareal are on view within the shopping center, including a newly commissioned piece inspired by his iconic Buckyball sculpture. His work can otherwise be found at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, The National Gallery in Washington D.C., and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. 

Dallas Symphony Orchestra at NorthPark Center
October 17, 2015

On Saturday, October 17, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra performed at NorthPark Center's CenterPark Garden. The inaugural concert drew crowds into the garden to enjoy popular pieces by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin and Bernstein, led by assistant conductor Karina Cannellakis. Jaap van Zweden, internationally known music director of the DSO, conducted the awe-inspiring Symphony No. 5 by Beethoven, one of the most highly regarded symphonies in music history.

October 18, 2015

On Sunday, October 18, children participated in the inaugural ArtRocks! event, featuring hands-on art activities led by important artists from North Texas, including Joanne Cervantes, Nathan Green, Kelly Kroener, Annette Lawrence, Suzanne O'Brien, Shamsy Roomani, William and Thoele Sarradet, James Thurman, and more!
