Partners Card 2009

October 30 - November 8, 2009
The Partners Card formula is simple!  An individual purchases a $60 Partners Card from a participating retailer or restaurant, and 100% of the $60 card purchase goes directly to support The Family Place programs and services for victims of domestic violence in our community. The Partners Card entitles the cardholder to a 20% discount at more than 750 participating retailers and restaurants for the ten-day period. Merchandise cannot be discounted in advance or held for purchase. 

The Family Place is the largest family violence provider in the Dallas area, assisting thousands of victims of family violence each year with award-winning programs that keep women and children safe.

Yoga in CenterPark

Guests are invited to NorthPark's beautiful CenterPark for free one-hour yoga sessions every Saturday morning, starting at 9:30 am.  The traditional yoga classes will be led by instructors from the nationally renowned Cooper Fitness Center.  Dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat or towel.  CenterPark is located on Level One beneath NorthPark AMC 15 theatres. Classes will be held come rain or shine.  In case of inclement weather, yoga will relocate to the hallway next to Banana Republic, near Dillard's.

Experience the exotic and colorful mythology and movements of India in this interactive dance performance presented by Austin Dance India.  Pluck the moon from the night sky, battle with a demon, and clap out intricate rhythms with Anuradha Naimpally and Austin Dance India as they dance and tell ancient stories in traditional costume.  You will not want to miss this exciting show for all ages.  This fun, variety-filled presentation for elementary school children takes place at 2:00 pm in NorthCourt between Nordstrom and Macy's.

Salvation Army Red Kettle Program

November 7 - December 24, 2009
The Salvation Army's Red Kettle program is collecting donations from November 7 through December 24 at multiple locations throughout NorthPark Center.  Kettle donations support year-round programs provided by The Salvation Army's 13 Dallas-Fort Worth community centers.

Margaret Clauder presents "Singing Bird", a Native American that will tell a wonderful historical account of the first Thanksgiving with a different "twist".  Music, magic and real native American artifacts will abound.  Children will get to see a real Indian drum, a real arrow and a medicine rattle.  They'll learn how the culture was different and also learn the most important lesson of all -- that two groups of very different people learned to live in peace with each other as friends, a lesson we can learn from today.  This fun-filled activity program is designed for preschool-age children and takes place at 10:30 am in NorthCourt between Nordstrom and Macy's.

Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

November 13 - December 14, 2009
Celebrate the holiday season by bringing happiness to children, senior citizens and others in need in our community through the NorthPark Center Salvation Army Angel Tree located on Level One near Macy's.  Select an angel, purchase the appropriate gifts and deliver them to the NorthPark Center Angel Tree by December 14th.  The Salvation Army will deliver your generous gifts to your angels in time for Christmas.  Volunteers are available to assist visitors from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, and from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm on Sundays.

The Trains at NorthPark™ Benefiting Ronald McDonald House of Dallas

November 21, 2009 - January 3, 2010
Celebrating its 11th year as part of the NorthPark Center holiday tradition, The Trains at NorthPark™ presented by Bank of Texas is the most elaborate toy train exhibit in Texas, with vintage locomotives whizzing by on a journey across America.  More than 40 Lionel-type O-Gauge and larger G-Gauge locomotives chug on 2,500 feet of track, winding past miniature national landmarks including San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Rushmore, the Southwest's Painted Desert, Dallas' Reunion Tower, the Statue of Liberty and New York City's Time Square.  The exhibit is open during regular shopping hours (except as noted below) and is located on Level One between Macy's and Dillard's. 

Ticket prices are $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children ( 2-12 years) and senior citizens (65 and older).  Children under the age of 2 years are admitted free of charge. Tickets may be purchased at the entrance to the exhibit at NorthPark Center, and discount tickets are available at Tom Thumb stores. 

Proceeds from The Trains at NorthPark™ provide almost half of the $1.3 million operating budget for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, raising more than $5 million over the ten years the exhibit has been at NorthPark Center.  A hallmark of the Dallas holiday season, The Trains at NorthPark™ has proven a succesful fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.

Holiday Kickoff at NorthPark Center

Here comes Santa Claus, right down NorthPark Lane!  Santa and friends will parade through NorthPark Center starting with Santa's arrival at NorthPark at 10:30 am.  The parade will culminate in NorthCourt where Santa will pull a special Angel from the Salvation Army Angel Tree.  This event is free and open to the public.  NorthCourt is located between Nordstrom and Macy's.

Storytime with Santa Claus at NorthPark Center

November 27 - December 24, 2009
Children of all ages gather to hear Santa Claus' tales about life at the North Pole with his elves and reindeer.  Santa's Storytime is held at 10:30 am, Monday through Saturday, and at 12:00 noon on Sunday.  Storytime is a free event and is open to the public.  Santa's Storytime takes place near Macy's.  NO Storytime is held on Christmas Eve.

Santa Claus at NorthPark Center:  Visits and Portraits with Santa

November 27 - December 24, 2009
NorthPark Center offers free one-on-one visits with Santa Claus.  Tickets are available starting at 9:00 am, Monday through Saturday, and starting at 10:00 am on Sunday. Parents may take their own photographs of their children with Santa or purchase high-quality portraits by Marc Robins Photography, available in several different sizes and formats.  Santa Claus is located near Macy's.

Celebrated as "one of the country's premier Santa's" by CBS News, NorthPark Center's Santa Claus is a Dallas favorite.  Carl Anderson, Ph.D., has been portraying Santa Claus for 27 years, the last 21 at NorthPark Center.  Anderson, who has an uncanny resemblance to Old Saint Nick, is an adjunct professor of educational psychology at the University of Texas in Austin, an award-winning storyteller, and a distinguished author of "All I Want for Christmas Is...Children's Letters to Santa Claus."  He has been featured in "The Wall Street Journal", "People Magazine", "USA Today" and other national publications as well as on NPR, CNN, The Movie Channel and MTV.

Scrooge Puppet Theatre

November 27 - December 24, 2009
Celebrating his 33rd year at NorthPark Center, Scrooge returns with his acerbic wit and humor in a fun, interactive puppet show. The performance series features the despicable yet lovable Ebenezer Scrooge from Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", presented in hilarious light by puppeteer extraordinaire, John Hardman of Le Theatre de Marionette.  This show is free and open to the public.  Find Scrooge Puppet Theatre in his NEW LOCATION in the hallway beneath AMC NorthPark 15 theatres, near Bookmarks.

SPCA of Dallas Remote Pet Adoption Center

The SPCA of Texas celebrates its 19th year at NorthPark Center with adorable dogs and cats available for adoption.  Volunteers are available at NorthPark Center to work with families to help choose each family's new best friend.  The SPCA of Texas is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which does not receive general operating funds from the City of Dallas, the State of Texas, the federal government, the ASPCA or any other humane organization.  The Adoption Center is located on Level One between Macy's and Dillard's.

Pecan Reindeer and Candy Santa

November 27 - December 24, 2009
Don't miss the delightful pecan-covered reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh, a NorthPark Center tradition for more than 40 years, located near Neiman Marcus and Tiffany & Co.  Conceptualized in 1965 to commemorate the shopping center's first holiday season, our Pecan Reindeer and Candy Santa are created with all-natural materials, including more than 18 bushels of whole pecans, 8 bushels of whole almonds, 10 pounds of raisins and a number of other candies and edible delights.

Holiday Wish Fountain

November 27 - December 24, 2009
Help support the North Texas Food Bank and share a holiday meal with a family in need.  Make your own wish by tossing a coin into NorthPark's Holiday Wish Fountain at Dillard's Court.  All proceeds will benefit the North Texas Food Bank.

NorthPark's First HO! HO! HO! Holiday Party in the Park, Presented by Cadillac

Join NorthPark and Cadillac for a holiday kickoff celebration for families.  NorthPark's famous Santa Claus will host a special story hour before the screening of a kid-friendly holiday movie.  Other family entertainment will include face painting, balloon artists and a performance by David Chicken.  Starting at 5:00 pm outdoors in beautiful CenterPark, this event is open to the public; admission is free with a donation of canned goods or cash to the North Texas Food Bank. The evening will come to a close with the gentle falling of real snow flakes!   Patio seating is available by reservation at Lombardi's Cibus or La Duni Latin Kitchen & Coffee Studio. 

Sights and Sounds of the Season

NorthPark Center features one of the most extensive holiday performance schedules of any shopping center or community venue in Texas.  More than 100 different orchestras, choral and dance groups from through the Dallas / Fort Worth area perform at NorthPark Center during the holiday season, including Dallas Ballet Company's "The Nutcracker", Bloom Dallas Black Dance Academy Performing Ensemble, Tuzer Ballet, Children's Choir of Texas from Ft. Worth Academy of Fine Arts, Metropolitan Winds, Plano Children's Chorale, Texas Ballet Theater School's Pace Ensemble, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts, Garland ISD Children's Choir, Dallas Power House of Dance and many more very talented groups.  All performances are free and open to the public and take place in NorthCourt (between Nordstrom and Macy's) and in Dillard's Court.  A full schedule of performances will be posted at a later date.

Camp Gingerbread

December 5-6, 2009
Celebrating the holiday season in sweet style, this event gives children ages 4 and up the opportunity to assemble and decorate their very own gingerbread cookie.  Fun for all age groups, this event allows the entire family to decorate delicious gingerbread cookies with nuts, dried fruit, candies and other sprinkles.  Proceeds benefit Shared Housing, a nonprofit organization that facilitates affordable housing options for those in need.  Entrance fee is $10.00 per child.  This event takes place from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday, December 5th, and from 1:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, December 6th, on Level One near Macy's.

Treat of Christmas offers hand-made cakes, pies, cookies and other confectionery delights created by premier local chefs for this one-day sale which takes place from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. The two locations for the event this year are Level One near Macy's and Level Two near NorthPark Cafés between Nordstrom and Macy's.  The Texas Chefs' Association donates these delicious treats, and all proceeds benefit the North Texas Food Bank - Operation Front Line, an educational program promoting nutrition, budgeting and cooking, offered to clients of Dallas-area nonprofit agencies.

Melody "Afi" Bell presents "Kwanzaa:  A Harvest Celebration".  Children will be enchanted with stories, songs and the history of Kwanzaa, accompanied by African drumming beats. This fun-filled activity program is designed for preschool-age children and takes place at 10:30 am in bookmarks which is located beneath AMC NorthPark 15 theatres, near Lombardi's Cibus and La Duni Latin Kitchen & Coffee Studio.

Join lululemon athletica and top notch area instructors for evening yoga in NorthPark's CenterPark.  This complimentary, all levels class is held Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm.  Bring your mat, water bottle and a friend!  It's time to get your "Om" on!  CenterPark is located on Level One beneath NorthPark AMC 15 theatres. Classes will be held come rain or shine.  In case of inclement weather, yoga will relocate to the hallway next to Banana Republic, near Dillard's.
