Salvation Army Red Kettle Program

November 7 - December 24, 2009
The Salvation Army's Red Kettle program is collecting donations from November 7 through December 24 at multiple locations throughout NorthPark Center.  Kettle donations support year-round programs provided by The Salvation Army's 13 Dallas-Fort Worth community centers.

Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

November 13 - December 14, 2009
Adopt an angel and share in the joy of giving this holiday season.  Visit The Salvation Army Angel Tre to select an angel and purchase a gift for children, senior citizens and others in need from across North Texas.  Deliver your gift to The Salvation Army Angel Tree by December 14 and The Salvation Army will make your special delivery in time for Christmas. Volunteers are available to assist visitors from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, and from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm on Sundays.

Yoga in CenterPark

November 21, 2009
Guests are invited to NorthPark's beautiful CenterPark for free one-hour yoga sessions every Saturday morning, starting at 9:30 am.  Dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat or towel.  CenterPark is located on Level One beneath NorthPark AMC 15 theatres. Classes will be held come rain or shine.  In case of inclement weather, yoga will relocate to the hallway next to Banana Republic, near Dillard's.

Carter Blood Drive

Emmy Award winning family entertainer David Chicken is part superhero, part Elvis and 100% fun for all ages.  His live show spectacular is a heart-pounding, floor-stomping event that's exciting and healthy for the whole family.  This talented singer/songwriter leads his audience through high-energy sing-alongs, dancing and general hilarity. This fun, variety-filled presentation for elementary school children takes place at 2:00 pm in NorthCourt between Nordstrom and Macy's.

The Trains at NorthPark™ Benefiting Ronald McDonald House of Dallas

November 21, 2009 - January 3, 2010
All aboard!  The Trains at NorthPark™, presented by Bank of Texas, is the most elaborate toy train exhibit in Texas.  Celebrating its 11th year at NorthPark Center, the exhibit features more than 40 vintage locomotives chugging along 2,500 feet of track on a magical journey across America.  See the trains wind through captivating scenes and national landmarks including the Washington Monument, the White House, Golden Gate Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Times Square and more.  

Ticket prices are $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children ( 2-12 years) and senior citizens (65 and older).  Children under the age of 2 years are admitted free of charge. Tickets may be purchased at the entrance to the exhibit at NorthPark Center, and discount tickets are available at Tom Thumb stores. 

Don't forget to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a train set featuring Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends.  Tickets are $5 each or five for $20.  The drawing will be December 17, 2009 at 6 pm.

Proceeds from The Trains at NorthPark™ provide almost half of the $1.3 million operating budget for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, raising more than $5 million over the ten years the exhibit has been at NorthPark Center.  A hallmark of the Dallas holiday season, The Trains at NorthPark™ has proven a succesful fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.

Santa Claus' Arrival at NorthPark Holiday Parade

Santa Claus is comming to town!  Join NorthPark Center at 10:30 am for the kickoff of the holiday season with the arrival of Santa Claus from the North Pole at the annual Holiday Parade.  On this joyous occasion for the entire family, spectators are invited to join Santa Claus, The Salvation Army Band, NBC 5's Mike Snyder, toy soldier stilt walkers and special guests for a festive parade throughout the shopping center amid stunning holiday landscaping and decorations.  At the conclusion of the parade, Santa Claus selects an angel from The Salvation Army Angel Tree to grant a wish and give a gift to someone in need.  Immediately following the parade, Santa Claus invites children to join him at his new Tudor-style cottage in Macy's Court for the first storytime of the season.  Festivities continue throughout the day in NorthCourt with a performance by Emmy Award-winning David Chicken followed by children's activities including face painters and balloon artists. This event is free and open to the public.  NorthCourt is located between Nordstrom and Macy's.

Storytime with Santa Claus at NorthPark Center

Children of all ages are invited to gather with Santa Claus in front of his new Tudor-style cottage, complete with thatched roof, half timbers and vaulted ceiling, for a very special storytime.  Children's imaginations soar as Santa Claus uses the art of storytelling to share personal accounts of hard-working elves, flying reindeer, Mrs. Claus and around-the-world travels on Christmas Eve.  Always warm and engaging, Santa Claus shares his traditional tales and some new ones at a special time each day.    Santa's Storytime is held at 10:30 am, Monday through Saturday, and at 12:00 noon on Sunday.  Storytime is a free event and is open to the public.  NO Storytime is held on Christmas Eve.

Visits and Portraits with Santa Claus at NorthPark

November 27 - December 24, 2009
Discover the magic of NorthPark Center's "real life" Santa Claus who has become a holiday tradition for more than 20 years.  Children of all ages are invited to join Santa Claus for personal visits in his new Tudor-style cottage to share their holiday wish lists and to create special memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.  Parents have the opportunity to capture the moments on their own cameras or to purchase professional portraits by Marc Robins Photography.  Tickets are available starting at 9am, Monday through Saturday, and at 10am on Sunday. Santa Claus is located at Macy's Court.

Scrooge Puppet Theatre

Charles Dickens' Ebenezer Scrooge comes to life through the magic of puppetry.  And if you think you know the story, Scrooge is here to show and tell you otherwise!  Celebrating his 33rd year at NorthPark Center, the grumpy yet wonderfully delightful Scrooge, played by John Hardman of Le Theatre de Marionette, brings audiences a humorous and interactive adaptation of the central character from "A Christmas Carol".  Children watch in awe as Scrooge playfully interacts with passing shoppers and members of the audience.  Come back time and again to enjoy this every-changing presentation.  This show is free and open to the public.  Find Scrooge Puppet Theatre in his NEW LOCATION on Level One in the hallway between XXI Forever and LOFT, near Bookmarks.

SPCA of Dallas Remote Pet Adoption Center

November 27 - December 24, 2009
Give a homeless dog or cat a new home this holiday season.  The 19th annual SPCA Remote Pet Adoption Center at NorthPark Center has available for adoption hundreds of pets in need of love and care.  Volunteer assistance is offered at select times to help families choose the right animals for their lifestyles. Adoption hours are 12 pm to 6 pm, Sunday through Friday;, Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm; and Christmas Eve from 10 am to 3 pm.  The SPCA Pet Adoption Center is located on Level One between Macy's and Dillard's.

Santa's Toy Shoppe Puppet Theatre

November 27 - December 24, 2009
Find out what happens when a team of hard-of-hearing elves is put in charge of making toys for the holidays.  Santa's Toy shoppe Puppet Theatre's "The Toymaker's Dilemma" is an original, hilarious show featuring more than 30 puppets -- the toymakers, his silly elves, and a parade of quirky animans -- as they work frantically to finish their important holiday duties.  Share in the delight of this heart-warming tale of perseverance and teamwork with your entire family. This show is free and open to the public.  Located in EastCourt near Dillard's.

Pecan Reindeer and Candy Santa

November 27 - December 24, 2009
Look up to the sky in Neiman Marcus Court and you'll be treated to a special surprise.  It's Santa Claus, Rudolph and the other reindeer on their way to deliver a sleigh full of presents to little boys and girls.  Look a little closer and you'll see that this delightful display is handcrafted of natural and edible materials, including more than 18 bushels of whole pecans, 8 bushels of whole almonds, 10 pounds of raisins and an array of sugary delights. Pecan Reindeer and Candy Santa Claus has been a holiday tradition at NorthPark Center since 1965, when it was created to commerorate NorthPark's first holiday season.  .

Holiday Wish Fountain

November 27 - December 24, 2009
Share a holiday meal with a family in need at the Holiday Wish Fountain benefiting the North Texas Food Bank.  Toss a coin into the fountain, make a wish and know that your donation will go directly to the North Texas Food Bank.  Non-perishable food items are also accepted at drop boxes conveniently located at NorthPark Center at the north entrance between Kona Grill and Luna de Noche, and at the south entrace between P.F. Chang's China Bistro and McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant.  NorthPark's Holiday Wish Fountain is located at Dillard's Court.

Home Sweet Gingerbread Home

Gingerbread "architects and artists" create confectionary marvels for display at the Home Sweet Gingerbread Home Competition benefiting Shared Housing Center and Homeaid/Home Builders Care.  During the Bakers & Builders Competition, professional chefs compete in front of a live audience who watch as the edible creations take shape.  Located near Nordstrom Court, the Traditional Competition Display takes place December 1-3, and the Bakers & Builders Competition takes place from 12 pm to 4pm on Thursday, December 3.

Sights and Sounds of the Season

The glorious sights and sounds of the holiday season fill the air as NorthPark Center welcomes more than 100 orchestral, choral and dance groups from across North Texas.  Performances include Dallas Ballet Company's "The Nutcracker", Bloom Dallas Black Dance Academy Performing Ensemble, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts, Children's Choir of Texas from Ft. Worth Academy of Fine Arts, Metropolitan Winds, Texas Ballet Theater School's Pace Ensemble, Tuzer Ballet and many more talented groups.  All performances are free and open to the public and take place in NorthCourt (between Nordstrom and Macy's) and in Dillard's Court.

Camp Gingerbread

December 5-6, 2009
Children ages 4 and up are invited to put on their pastry hats to decorate gingerbread men in buttons and bows using an assortment of edible delights, including raisins, nuts and sprinkles.  Proceeds benefit Shared Housing, a nonprofit organization that facilitates affordable housing options for those in need.  Entrance fee is $10.00 per child.  This event takes place from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday, December 5th, and from 1:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, December 6th, on Level One near Macy's.

A Season of Wishes Holiday Concert by Turtle Creek Chorale, Presented by Cadillac

Treats of Christmas

Join the Texas Chefs Association and NorthPark Center for a one-day holiday bake sale.  Premier chefs from the area representing dozens of restaurants, hotels, country clubs and caterers present gingerbread houses, gourmet cakes and cookies and edible centerpieces -- all available for purchase by the public with prices starting at $5.  Proceeds benefit the Texas Chefs Association and North Texas Food Bank's Operation Frontline cooking and nutrition education program. This event takes place from 10am to 7pm in two locations this year: Level One near Macy's and Level Two near NorthPark Cafés between Nordstrom and Macy's.
